Gala to light up the streets of Geelong

As the Geelong Connected Communities Gala Parade celebrates its 101st year, the city will be aglow with the parade continuing in its twilight timeslot.

The community is invited to celebrate this free annual event on Saturday, 11 November, kicking off at 7.30pm the parade will make its way through the lantern-lit streets of Geelong's CBD.

Spectators will be entertained by colourful floats, music, sporting heroes, familiar celebrities, Santa and Mrs Claus and movie characters, such as Trolls. Paying homage to the history of the parade nurses with bedpans will follow the parade route collecting donations for the hospital just like years gone by.

Cheeky mascots, enormous lanterns live marching bands will bring extra magic to the historic parade.

Gala raises important funds for the Barwon Health Foundation, while providing the Barwon Health Foundation with a way of saying thank you to our community for their generous, ongoing support.

Parade spectators will have the chance to support Barwon Health by purchasing a pin wheel for $2.

Money raised on the day will go toward vital equipment and services at University Hospital Geelong.
