About the Geelong Connected Communities Gala Day Parade
Gala set to shine once again
As the Geelong Connected Communities Gala Parade celebrates its 100th year, the city will be aglow with the parade continuing in the twilight time slot.
The community is invited to celebrate this free annual event on Saturday, 12 November.
Spectators will be entertained by colourful floats, music, sporting heroes, familiar celebrities, Santa and Mrs Claus and movie characters, such as Minions. Paying homage to the history of the parade Nurses with bedpans will follow the parade route collecting donations for the hospital just like years gone by.
The Geelong Connected Communities parade will officially kick off at Eastern Gardens from 7.30pm, after the pre-parade entertainment, and will make its way lighting up Malop Street, Moorabool Street and concluding at the iconic Christmas tree on Geelong's waterfront.
Gala raises important funds for the Barwon Health Hospital Appeal, while celebrating our community and providing the Barwon Health Foundation with a way of saying thank you to our community for their generous, ongoing support.
Parade spectators will have the chance to support Barwon Health by purchasing a pin wheel for $2.
All funds raised on the day will go towards #ProjectLove – the redevelopment of the Chemotherapy Day Ward and Pharmacy at Barwon Health's Andrew Love Cancer Centre.
